CNA STAFF, Apr 14, 2008 / 09:17 pm (CNA).- A high profile Muslim cleric and Hamas member of the Palestinian parliament gave a sermon last Friday in which he declared that soon Rome, “the capital of the Catholics” will be soon overtaken by Islam.

Yunis al-Astal, the cleric in question, told his listeners that “Very soon, Allah willing, Rome will be conquered, just like Constantinople was, as was prophesized by our Prophet Muhammad. Today, Rome is the capital of the Catholics, or the Crusader capital, which has declared its hostility to Islam…”

The diatribe was aired on Hamas' Al-Aqsa TV and predicted that Rome would become "an advanced post for the Islamic conquests, which will spread though Europe in its entirety, and then will turn to the two Americas, even Eastern Europe."

"Allah has chosen you for Himself and for His religion," al-Astal declared, "so that you will serve as the engine pulling this nation to the phase of succession, security and consolidation of power, and even to conquests through da'wa and military conquests of the capitals of the entire world.

According to FOX News, Al-Astal preached last June that it was the duty of Palestinian women to martyr themselves by becoming homicide bombers.

"When jihad becomes an individual duty, it applies to women too, because women do not differ from men when it comes to individual duties," he said in a June 23, 2007 interview. Al-Astal also called Jews "the brothers of apes and pigs" who should "taste the bitterness of death” in the interview.

The parliamentarian returned to this slur on Friday, saying that Rome “has planted the brothers of apes and pigs in Palestine in order to prevent the reawakening of Islam.”

"I believe that our children, or our grandchildren, will inherit our jihad and our sacrifices, and, Allah willing, the commanders of the conquest will come from among them,” Al-Astal said.

"Today, we instill these good tidings in their souls – and by means of the mosques and the Koran books, and the history of our Prophets, his companions, and the great leaders, we prepare them for the mission of saving humanity from the hellfire at whose brink they stand."

It wont be easy for them to take Rome, in fact if Ron´s prediction is true they will never have it, they will destroy it but they will never have it!

Oh, I think they'd be happy either way.
I intended this post to be supportive of Ron's predictions.

There has long been a prophecy among the Muslims that Islam would conquer Europe, and also that Islam will conquer the world.

So, they will conquer Europe, during the first part of the tribulation, but not the world.

In the very distant future, Islam will be the most prominent of the three religions, Islam, Judaism, Christianity, in the world. This will occur prior to the second part of the tribulation.

Then, after Jesus Returns, the whole world will be Catholic Christian.

Ron, while I understand that, as you stated, World War 3 is a war in which the Arab/Muslim nations of the Middle East and northern Africa invade and conquer all of Europe, parts of Eastern Europe, parts of Scandinavia, and the northern part of Africa above the equator. This invasion would begin in 2010.

At this point, I don't see how any muslim invading army could overtake by military force (save for nuclear disaster) any Western European power with the current status of their military and; especially, if the U.S comes to the aid of Europe against an invading muslim army. Anyhow, a very minor point.

No, the war begins in 2010, but I don't think invasion into Europe begins until 2011.

The things that allow them to be successful:

The Warning causes an upheaval in the Arab/Muslim nations of the Middle East and northern Africa, consolidating power in the hands of extremists.

They increase the number of men in their military.

They obtain nuclear weapons.

They are willing to use nuclear weapons and the West is not.

Political liberalism in the West hampers the war effort.

The Miracle also causes great fear and desparate acts by the unrepentant wicked in that area of the world.

The rest of the world is also in disarray and confusion due to the Warning and the Miracle and the reaction of people to these events.

There are many Arab and Muslim immigrants in Europe who will riot and take to the streets; this weakens these nations from within.

It is God's will that they win World War 3, as a punishment against the Christian nations for sin, just as Israel was conquered in ancient times because of their sins.

It is certainly a frightening thought to think that Muslim extremism will succeed in putting the West on its knees by desecrating Rome, the center of all christianity, and New York, the financial center, through nuclear attacks.

And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.

Is that pericope have something linked with the proclaims that Rome will soon be conquered by Islam?

I don't think that the conquering of Rome, or the destruction of Vatican City, in any way contradicts or undermines the promise that the gates of Hell will not prevail against the Church. Jerusalem was conquered in past times by the Muslims. Rome was under the power of Hitler and Mussolini. The promise that the gates of Hell will not prevail against the Church cannot be interpreted to refer to temporal power over particular cities. It refers to the spiritual power of the Church to lead the faithful to salvation.

I have also read that the term "prevail" means a lasting victory, or a triumph. So, even a temporary conquest of Islam over Christianity (on a temporal level) would not constitute "prevailing."

It's enevitable that France will certainly be particularly affected.
There are a few private revelation prophecies from the saints which essentially say the same thing.
There are quite a lot of North African immigrants in France, from Algeria, Tunisa, etc.. that were once colonies of France. These predominantly Muslim people have not integrated very well into mainstream French culture, and typically hang out in the poor government housing projects of Northern Paris, Lyon etc...
It has not been without incident, as reported by Wikipedia-:
"The 2005 civil unrest in France of October and November was a series of riots and violent clashes, involving mainly the burning of cars and public buildings at night starting on October 27, 2005 in Clichy-sous-Bois. . A state of emergency was declared on November 8, 2005."
The situation was more or less, repeated again, during the 2007 unrest in Northern Paris on November 26, 2007, following the deaths of two teenagers.

So therefore we have lots of social outcast tension bubbling under, and it will flair up again, once the Muslim immigrants see a window of opportunity to otherthrow the establishment, when WWIII begins.

I think France, along with some other major European nations will suffer the worst during World War 3, as many prophecies indicate this. Taking La Salette for example, Our Lady revealed that "France, Italy, Spain and England will be at war. Blood will flow in the streets..."
This most likely shows that the street violence (one of the secrets of Medjugorje) will play a significant part in crippling those nations from within.

I shudder to think what would be the case if this were to happen in smaller nations. Ireland, for example, currently has a small but growing Muslim population, and with a total population of only about 4 million; we could be wiped out in record time.
