Default A Visit to Knock

I paid a visit to Knock shrine last Sunday. It was a nice day and there was a good crowd there. It was my first time there also. I took a few photographs of it and here are some of them.

The first one is of the Basilica, which is used as the main church for the visitors and for the various events that take place. When I was there, a large crowd was present and they then began a procession with the statue of Our Lady around the grounds.

Here is the procession that took place:

This is the Apparition Chapel, where the vision occurred. The three statues are, from left to right, St. Joseph, Our Lady and St. John. The lamb on the altar in front of a cross was also part of the vision.

Another shot of the Basilica, this time with the Papal cross in view. Pope John Paul II visited the site during his trip to Ireland in 1979.

Beautiful, Shane. It has changed since my visit; gotten bigger. There were hourly Masses at Apparition Chapel at that time. I had a wonderful confession there as well. Thanks for sharing.

I feel attracted to visit that place. I hope I could some day.
