Default The Sacred Bible - CPDV - query

Ron

Am I missing something obvious?

When I access the Kindle version on my netbook, using kindle free PC reader
I frequently get lost and cannot find which book of the bible I am currently
looking at.
The bottom of the screen displays the location number
but I am unable to find a way of showing which book that location relates to.

However, when I access the same bible on my phone, once I touch the screen,
the location number displays at screen bottom as before, but, in addition, the bible name and current book of the bible shows at the screen top.

Did you get the version published by me? Some person or persons has been publishing the CPDV (which is public domain) with poor formatting. Those "unofficial" editions still have my name on them because I'm the translator and editor, and its public domain.

The version published by me has the green pattern cover.

My version should have the book name and chapter number at the top of every chapter:
[Exodus 2]
The location number is a Kindle thing that has no relevance to the Bible book, chapter, and verse.

I have both versions. I purchased the green one a year or two back when you last drew our attention to the issue.
My problem is identical on both versions - only when using Kindle on my netbook, as I have explained.

I realize that if I scroll down (or up) I can find a book and chapter number, but if I am looking at a page in the middle of a chapter I cannot see what book or chapter I am in.
If I was on the same page using my phone version of Kindle, I only have to touch the screen and the book and chapter number shows at top of screen (with Kindle location number at bottom of screen)
To give you an example:
Open the search tool.
type in a word and search for it.
the search results only show a location number - not book and chapter.

(It would help if search results could be made to display book and chapter, either in place of location numbers or in addition to location numbers.)

now click on any search result.
you are now looking at the page where text resides.
now, unless the page happens to be at the start or end of a chapter you still cannot even see what book you are looking at - that is if I am using Kindle for PC on my netbook.

As I said, if I did the same exercise on my phone, I can immediately identify what book I am looking at by simply touching the screen and reading the book and chapter detail at top of screen.

I keep thinking there must be an equivalent way of accessing the same information on my PC and I am simply blind to it!

Sorry, but I don't see any way to fix that issue.

Default Kindle platform issue

Ron
thanks for looking at it.

can anyone else, using Kindle PC, confirm if they experience the same difficulty?

is anyone using Kindle PC on a computer/laptop/netbook with a touch screen?
Does it perform as Kindle on my phone does, ie. when you touch the screen does the book and chapter info appear at top of screen with location info at bottom of screen?

is anyone using Kindle on a tablet computer?

It may be that only touch-screen platforms can exploit that particular functionality within Kindle.
Feedback from a few people may resolve it.

Thanks for your help.

So far, I have some of Ron's books in the old fashion way format only, and they don't disappoint, by the way.

If anyone has read one or another of my books, or uses my Bible translation, you might consider writing a review at Amazon.com.

Please be sure you have the right edition of my Bible translation, here:

And a list of my books, with links, is on this page:
