Default Assisted suicide approved by Washington DC city council

http://www.catholicnewsagency.com/ne...council-89478/

Quote:
The D.C. city council voted 11-2 to pass the “Death With Dignity” bill, which would allow two doctors, who both determine that a patient will die within sixth months, to prescribe a fatal dose of medication for the patient if requested.
Quote:
In addition to the immorality of suicide, the bill poses other serious ethical concerns for its opponents.

Not all terminal diagnoses are correct, as patients can outlive their life expectancy by years. Thus, some patients who would otherwise long outlive their diagnosis might instead opt for an early death.

However, under the legislative measure, doctors could write a lethal prescription for a patient they barely know but deem to be terminally-ill, and if a patient’s long-time physician refuses to write them a prescription, the patient could simply look around for a doctor who will.

The way it's going, wouldn't be a surprise if later on another bill is approved for those who are not only to be considered "terminally ill", but also for those who simply don't want to live anymore. And then, a prescription from only one "doctors" may be needed, and then, one may be just have to go to any drug store and purchase these venoms from the counter, first for people over 60 years old, then 50, then 30 and so on reducing the ages. Sounds crazy, but this is a crazy, culture of death world. A country killing its own citizens. This is the result of a world know knowing (apart from) Christ.

Another problem, a big problem, with this culture of death who do not know God is that, lacks knowledge that we are not going to find complete happiness in this temporal and fallen world, we are only passing through here. Our final dwelling place with complete, full happiness, is in Heaven with the Beatific Vision of God. This Godless culture thinks, that everything is here on this earth. So a true Christian may know that a terminal affliction may be actually a blessing or merciful way of God towards that person or persons so that, right before their deaths, they are sharing the sufferings of Christ on this earth and that, at the same time, they are atoning their temporal punishments due to sin and reducing time in Purgatory, and may even, why not, go directly to Heaven with a good purification of their punishments due to sin here on earth. If a person is just killed without this opportunity, then, they are being sent, if has not died in actual mortal sin, to a longer stay in Purgatory where the purification process for the individual might be stronger than here on earth.

Worst still, what about if that person has unrepentant actual mortal sin, God might be giving a person, through that terminal suffering, a time to repent before death, and if is killed before time of repentance, that person is being sent straight to Hell. What an act on non-charity people are doing!

True death with dignity is dying immersed in the love of God who is Love and wants everyone to be saved.

In a nation that considers abortion to be a right, it is inevitable (sadly) that the nation also approve of euthanasia, as if it were a right.

Yes, it is a process of continuing approval for "death with dignity", without any limits. Eventually, it will be death on demand for any reason.
