Default Did Jesus suffered in Hell ?

Hi Ron,

Jesus' sufferings ended at His death on the cross, correct?

Some people claim that Jesus continued suffering when He descended into Hell until His resurrection on the third day.

Jesus visited Hell, so that the condemned souls there would know against whom they sinned and would understand the full measure of the loss they suffered. He also visited Purgatory, so that all the souls there would know Christ explicitly, who had until then accepted Christ only implicitly.

Jesus did not suffer when He visited Hell. We might say, figuratively, that He only went to the gates of Hell. He did not visit each soul in Hell personally. But He did enter Purgatory, and visit the souls there personally, so that they would know him, who had just obtained their salvation. Jesus did not suffer in Purgatory, nor in Hell.

Thank you Ron.

Makes sense because Purgatory was created by God for the purification of souls, and Hell for torment of souls and devils. Jesus did not sin, so God can not be purified in Purgatory nor be punished in Hell by God Himself, otherwise, He will be unjust to Himself, and God is not unjust. Everyone in Purgatory and Hell are suffering justly as a consequence of their own sins, but they don't suffer more than they deserve.

Jesus suffered on earth for atonement for our sins but also because we (not God) are unjust, so He was crucified, He was afflicted by man directly.
