Default Should we be saying the name of evil?

I have always prayed the Saint Michael prayer against evil. However, I have always questioned the need to be saying the name of satan, and pronouncing his work at the end of the prayer 9prowling about the world.) Why is this necessary?

Also, if it is allowed to be including that name within the prayer. Is it also okay to substitute that name with the names of other evil entities. For example, I know that one of the evils that regularly attacks the family is known as Asmodeus (book of Tobit). Can that name be substituted in when using the Saint Michael prayer?

Thank you

Satan or any other fallen angel do not have power over God. It is good to identify the fallen angels that we want God to defeat through St. Michael the Archangel (or any other Saint). You are actually telling God and St. Michael that you renounce Satan and all the fallen angels. You may add the name of any other known biblical fallen angel in order to be cast out, but I wouldn’t substitute or take out the casting out Satan from this prayer composed by Pope Leo XIII. This is an exorcism prayer against Satan and all the fallen angels. I pray it everyday.
