I had to bring the above post by Ron because there are some "teachers" who dare to call people in general, everyone without distinction, as "your father is the devil" based on John 8:44 because we are all sinners but without knowing the state of the souls of others. Only God can judge people's souls so that statement by those (even Catholic) preachers can fall into the category of rash judgment or even calumny.

Now, regarding John 8, Jesus was talking to those who were rejecting Him, to those who rejected truth, to the unrepentant hypocrites, to the whitewashed sepulchers, and not everyone is such a person.

Everyone human person is called to salvation and has the concrete possibility to obtain the state of grace and eternal life with God. Everyone in the state of grace is a true child of God, even if the person is not a Christian or not a believer in God. Whosoever loves their neighbor, loves God (at least implicitly).
