Default Women Deacons

The commission established by Pope Francis has finished its study. See this link from the National Catholic Reporter.

excerpts from the article:

"A study he commissioned on the possibility of ordaining women deacons is complete and now on the desk of Pope Francis.

Phyllis Zagano and Jesuit Fr. Bernard Pottier, two members of that commission, told a packed auditorium at Fordham University's Lincoln Center campus here that the evidence indicates women deacons have a long history in the church and that they are needed in ministry worldwide."

"History alone is not dispositive. It can't answer the question one way or another," said Zagano, author of numerous books and articles on the topic of women deacons and senior research associate at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York. But, she said, the ministry need is there."

The ordination of women as deaconesses by of Pope Francis in a formal Magisterial document is more factible now. The document would indicate the details of their functions, at what age they can start to be admitted, status, education, etc. The Church does not have authority given by God to ordain women as priests but the deaconate is a different type of ordination which is subordinate for the service of the Church.

Ok, so this is very exciting news, for me at least, and it is very good for Garabandal.

I am going to give my speculative opinion on what could very well happen. This is just a guess, but it is a good guess.

I think that Pope Francis could very well call a Synod to discuss the issue of women deacons. I think that he will decide in favor of ordaining women deacons, or something to that effect.

Whether Pope Francis calls a Synod or not, if he approves of women deacons (and I think he will) this will almost certainly cause a schism within the church.

If he does call a Synod to discuss the issue than this would satisfy two of the "Pre-Warning Signs" of Garabandal.

Synod before Warning

According to Mother Nieves Garcia (an eyewitness to the Garabandal apparitions and school teacher of Conchita) an important synod will occur shortly before The Warning. Mother Nieves Garcia obtained this information during one of the apparitions to Conchita. She tells her story in this youtube video:

This is also mentioned in a book about Garabandal.

See this link and scroll down:

Something Like a Schism

From “Garabandal: The Village Speaks.” Pages 350-351 (page 169 in pdf format)

“The Warning will be brought about after The Church has been cruelly torn by “something like a schism.”

After further reflection, I think the conservative schism will primarily be (reach its peak) over women deacons.

Think about it. It will not be a teaching that the conservative subculture can just ignore or reinterpret. No, we will have to see it, witness it.

And when the conservative subculture has to witness the ordination of women deacons, and then has to witness their participation in the church, they will go nuts.

It will be a very difficult time for the church.

On a side note, as this is just my speculation here (I could certainly be wrong), I wonder if Pope Francis will make the trip to Russia, to Moscow before all of this happens. I am specifically wondering this because in post #6 on this page
It states that when the Pope returns from Russia violent persecutions will break out in Europe and that the church will enter the very difficult period of the "Pre-Warning". But this is just a speculation.

If the above post is accurate the sequence of "Pre-Warning" events could be as follows: (This is just a speculation)

1. Pope goes to Russia, to Moscow

2. Pope holds Synod about women deacons, Pope subsequently decides in favor of women deacons

3. Conservative Schism reaches its peak

4. Many smaller more rural churches where there are more so called "conservative" Catholics will have to close their doors.

Q. Do you remember what the Blessed Mother said about the communist tribulation that is to precede the Warning?
A. It would look like the communists would have taken over the whole world and it would be very hard to practice the religion, for priests to say Mass or for people to open the doors of the churches.

Default Update on Women Deacons

Excerpts from the article:

"Francis stressed that there is “a way of understanding” the female diaconate, which is “not in the same way as the male diaconate,” since the formulas used in the rite of ordination are different."

"Among the disputed points are disagreement over the formula that was used in the ordination of deaconesses, whether the formula carried sacramental weight, and what function those women deacons might have had."

"But as for their role in modern times, Francis said “there is no consensus for an ordination in the same form as men. Some say there is doubt, others say let’s go forward. Either way, don’t be afraid to study,” he said."

“This is what they are studying,” Francis said, noting that the commission so far has been able to find a hundred points they all agree on, but there is still a long way to go."
