.

I disagree that it is way out of catholic thought. I think that you cannot find single authority in the church that will be persistent in saying: "Dont take for serious that prophet Daniel poisoned the dragon, because there is no such things like dragons. If it says dragon it probably means elephant". Nature of us christians is that we take very carefully what is written in the bible. We cant skip over it just like that...

Monsignor Corrado Balducci was a Roman Catholic theologian of the Vatican Curia-governing body, a close friend of the pope, a long-time head exorcist for the Archdiocese of Rome, and a Prelate of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples and the Society for the Propagation of the Faith. Most of the interviews with him are on italian language so i cant understand what he is saying, but there is an article about him on wikipedia where it is mentioned that understanding of an alien life is necesery for the understanding of the nature of the chastisement to fall upon us. Thats not surprising because there are elements in the seventh seal that do sound like an alien attack...

This is a high ranking man from the Vatican speaking, without being rebuked by anybody from the church...

Similar statements have been repeated by other high ranking man in the Vatican...

"without being rebuked by anybody from the church"
That is a weak argument, the argument from silence.

In my study of eschatology, I don't see any support for the idea of a planetary (or similar) body colliding with earth, nor any support for the idea of aliens involved in the tribulation.

I'm going to close this thread.
