Default Dress code...

.

There are many messages in Anguera and Fatima speaking of danger of getting dressed immodestly. Im interested is there any exact dress code for catholichs to know when exactly wearing some clothes becomes a mortal sin ?

Are there really strict lines for "too short" or "too something else" ?

Some will say that this is immodestly, others will say it is tolerable...

Keva,

I highly recommend you the book called "Love and Responsibility" by the then Karol Wojtyla (he wrote this book before becoming Pope John Paul II, first published in 1960). In this book he describes how and when or where a dress is appropriate or not.

In short, I can tell you that all short attires are immoral in places of worship, in a Church. St. Padre Pio did not hear confession for women who dressed with skirts above their knees. However, a short attire (not a revealing one though) may be permissible in a place such as a beach. It's always good to keep in mind not be the cause of temptation for fellow people.

Our Virgin Mary has already prophesied in various true revelations (one of them is our Lady of Good Success) that many women will lose their dignity with immoral customs, revealing attires, that offend God. This has been fulfilled.

On skirt and dress length, the length should be such that when the woman sits down, one cannot see up her skirt or dress. In other words, the length should fold down over the knees. So there is a reason for that particular, often stated, length, a few inches below the knees.

What about tight jeans ? Any specifics ?

Brother, speaking of beach, if short skirt "may be" permissible (its very important to determine is it, or is it not...) then what about modern bikini in general ?

I would not try to be the judge over every clothing decision of women or men. I simply recommend modesty and let each person use their own judgment.

Many of today's fashion are too revealing, so modesty and prudence is advised in order to choose a proper attire.
