The conception of the Virgin Mary

From your excerpt of your book on New Insights into the Deposit of Faith (not for the faint of heart as you say!) you bring forth the idea that the Virgin Mary's parents, Saint Joachim and Saint Ann, conceived her without sexual union and within their complete purity of body, heart, mind, and soul.
I always understood her Immaculate Conception did not implicate the active or generative conception by her parents ?
