Default Marriage between a catholic and an orthodox

Hi Ron,
I have a friend who wants to marry and he's catholic. His spouse to be is orthodox and he wants to marry in the church, but he says the church doesn't permit it. I'm not sure that's correct. What would be the conditions? Would she have to convert necessarily to catholicism for instance? Thanks.

God bless Ron.

Btw, my wife and I expecting our fifth child. Could I please ask for your prayers and all the members of this forum as her pregnancy is at risk not to mention my wife's health. We are expecting our first son. Thank you all.

Yes, I will pray for you, your wife, and your family.

A Catholic can have the valid Sacrament of Marriage with any baptized Christian, whether Catholic, Orthodox, or Protestant. Permission is needed from the local ordinary (the local Bishop). Here is Canon law on the subject:

Congratulations Pontifex!

Will be praying as requested.

Regarding mixed marriages, this is what the CCC has to say (1633 - 1637):

Just wanted to let you all know that my wife's pregnancy went very well and we welcomed our first son. Thank you again for your prayers.
