Default Apparition to Occur this Coming Week, 2007!

In Damascus, Syria, a major center of Eastern Christianity, there is one Myrna Nazzour, a Melkite married to an Orthodox. Since the 1980's, she has received ongoing apparitions of Christ and the M.H. Theotokos. Various signs accompany these apparitions, such as stigmata, healings, and myrrh-streaming icons of Our Lady of Kazan, a wonder-working icon with a long and wondrous history that will also have a role in these end times. In the apparitions, the consistent message is for the re-unification of the Catholic and Orthodox Churches, and a reproach for all who delight in the current disunity of the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic CHurch. The messages are one of the very few ongoing apparitions that have received the uniquivocal approval of the Roman Catholic hierarchy.

The apparitions call for what is impossible for ecumenical dialogues and episcopal posturing: the healing of the Great Schism. Christ says that if we unify the dates of Pascha, he will personally do that which is impossible for men by re-uniting his Body. The Apparitions occur only when Great and Holy Pascha falls on the same date in both the Eastern and Western Calendars, and after some time the Julian and Gregorian calendars will begin to diverge so much that their Easters will never coincide again.

IN this year, 2007, Pascha falls on the same date for both Catholics and Orthodox, so next week Myrna will receive the stigmata, there will be myrrh streaming from any icons of Kazan that people bring and put in the Nazzour family bedroom and elsewhere, and the apparitions will again occur.

When they occur next Thursday, they should be posted here:

I will also keep everyone up-to-date as I learn more.

Thanks for the links, I will keep a watch. Lately, I have been learning a lot about the Orthodox Church, and I am quite impressed. The approach of prayer are really awesome. I have been following along with Padraig in his prayer group on, "The Way of a Pilgrim". It is a great book, in case you have not read it yet.

I have not heard of Padraig's group, but am interested.

The Way of a Pilgrim is meant to express a spirituality and way of life to introduce it to those to whom that way of prayer is foreign. It did that for me when I was in high school, and was one of the means by which I was introduced to the Church.

This is my favorite message of these apparitions. It provides me with much consolation and direction in its simplicity:

Message given to Myrna by Jesus Christ at Soufanieh on November 26th , 2001.

How beautiful is the family whose emblem is unity, love and faith.
Its path is My path and My Mother is its support.
My children,
I am bestowing Myself upon you.
The act of adoration, meditation, thanksgiving and spiritual
guidance rejoice Me.
But the whole is incomplete without your unity at the altar.
I am giving you My Body and My Blood as a proof of My fidelity
and love.
Receive from Me this sacrament with trust and faith,
because this sacrament comforts you,
provides you with strength and wisdom and increases you in grace.
Difficult days are coming.
Turmoil within the Church.
He, who does not enjoy true peace, will be in danger due to
Do not surrender to failure,
do not worry about the judgment of others on you,
do not defend yourselves
and seek only what I have prepared for you.
I am the One who take care of you because you are the work of
My hands.
Prove your love to Me,
because through love I walk at your side and through the
sacraments I unite Myself to you.
And do not forget that I am the reason of your existence on earth
and I am the reason of your happiness in Heaven.

In the Hearts of Jesus and Mary!

Mario, I love that one.

Another personal favorite, as my wife seek a counter-cultural family:

This is my last commandment to you:
Each one of you, return back home,
however, hold the East in your hearts.
From here a light emerged anew.
You are its radiance in a world seduced by materialism, sensuality and fame,
so much as to have almost lost its values.
As for you, hold on to your Eastern identity.
Do not allow your will, your freedom and your faith in this Orient to be taken away from you.

Until the apparitions from this week are published, here is a testimonial from a Roman priest who visited Soufanieh:

Its very good Nathan, I feel so sorry for the Christians in Iraq. I notice again and again were Our Lady appears there are terrible tragedies, like Rwanda, Iraq, Bosnia its as though Our Lady were coming close to comfort.

I was a little concerned about the imminence of the return of Christ? The same for the Rwanda apparitions, what do you make of this????

THe full account of Holy Week at Soufanieh can be found here, for those francaphones among us, until it is translated into English:

Unlike in previous years, there was no message. A priest there said that "l'absence de message, c'est un message" (the absence of a message is itself a message).
