Dearest Catholic Planet Friends,

A short while ago, I requested prayers for a condition I have had to deal with since March 2009. I had reacted with rashes and terrible hives to a laser treatment whenever I consumed the foods for which had been "treated" . Besides that, I had developed hives for antihistamines and NSAIDs. I had prayed; my priest friends prayed, I had two prayer groups praying. I had you pray. Last time, I decided to ask St. Jude to intercede, and I also asked you to join me. Many of you said you'd pray, and a few of you even said you'd join in the novena.

Well, since then I've been treated by both a board certified hypno-therapist (with my priest's permission) as well as a cognitive behavioral therapist. Together they worked on my thinking, both awake and asleep. I actually listened to a tape as I fell asleep. I reminded myself, constantly that I could eat them now. They told me that I had to challenge my beliefs. At first, when I tried the foods, I got the rashes, but now, I am rashless. My other major problem was that I reacted to any antihistamine and any NSAID pain reliever. I can report that I have taken Tylenol and Ibuprofen without any rashes. I cannot tell you how blessed I feel. I am indebted to God for His mercy, to St. Jude for his intercession and of course to Mary, my Mother for her intercession. But I am also indebted to each of you who prayed, and I'm sure there are many who read these posts and pray, but do not post. Thank you all.
Jesus said that whenever two or more pray, He is in our midst. Well, folks, He was with all of us.

There always is a reason for everything. I believe that I have learned something which will help others who "think themselves into beliefs" that are not challenged. Just like me, these people suffer a physical response over which they believe there is no way out.

I am thinking of those with Same Sex Attraction in particular. I wonder if they could be helped with the dual protocol of board-certified medical hypno-therapy and behavioral cognitive therapy. I know that the APA has not been able to declare that homosexuals are "born" that way. Identical twins, for instance, only share homosexuality 11% of the time. This means that something else, not innate, is causing their physical reaction - same sex attraction. According to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, thoughts lead to beliefs; beliefs lead to action; actions lead to results. Perhaps I have gone through all of this in order to share this hypothesis.

I am a grant writer and educator. I am praying about the possibility of writing a grant to provide clinical trials for 100 individuals with Same Sex Attraction, who are not happy, and who wish to challenge their beliefs and regain the attractions for which they were designed.

Anyone out there think this is possible?

Your feedback and ideas about possible groups who would fund this study would be helpful.

PS. Don't forget to thank God for His mercies and to thank St. Jude for his intercession for me, and ask him to intercede for you when all seems hopeless.
