Default Joining this group

If you are a Catholic who is interested in joining the discussion group,

1. Read the Required Beliefs for Membership here:
http://www.catholicplanet.net/forum/...ead.php?t=2766

The required beliefs for membership are not rules, they are beliefs.
If you do not agree with these beliefs, then do not apply.
If you do not understand these beliefs, then you should do some more reading before applying.

2. Fill out this Application for membership:
http://www.catholicplanet.net/forum/...ad.php?p=28615

3. E-mail the application with your answers to:
http://www.catholicplanet.com/contact.htm

4. After I receive the application, I will e-mail you with any questions, comments, or corrections that I may have.

Members of this discussion group should have the attitude of students seeking to learn the Catholic Faith ever better. This is not a place for arguing or the exchange of baseless opinions. Persons who are unwilling to be corrected when their opinion is contrary to Church teaching are not welcome here. Persons who place the true teachings of the Catholic Faith above their own opinions are welcome here.

I will address a few comments to the non-member readers of this group.

If you are a regular reader of this discussion group, consider joining us as a member. You will benefit by being able to post questions and participate in discussions. The teaching series of posts may help you to learn your Catholic Faith better.

However, it is not easy to become a member of this group. I will not admit Catholics who reject any definitive Church teaching. Examples of clear and definitive teachings of the Catholic Church which many Catholics reject:

the use of contraception is intrinsically evil and always gravely immoral

lying is intrinsically evil and always immoral

to be moral, each and every sexual act must be marital, unitive, and procreative

Sacred Scripture is entirely inspired and entirely inerrant, not only on matters of faith and morals, but on all matters about which Scripture makes an assertion, including history, science, etc.

the teachings of the Magisterium are sometimes infallible, and other times non-infallible; the non-infallible teachings allow for a limited possibility of error

I think its great. I would open the discussion group to all who wish to learn the Catholic faith ever better, even if it means that some may not readily understand or accept every teaching, so long as respect for the Church`s teaching is respected.

If new members did not abide by the rules, you are always steadfast in correcting them and / or banning them.

If I open the group more widely, it is more of my time to teach and correct. It is more time-consuming, and less fruitful, to correct someone who is not willing to learn and be corrected. So I've decided to keep the group relatively small, and to admit only a few select persons.

Just a reminder that I am still accepting a few new members to the group. It is difficult to obtain membership here, but I think that it is well worth the effort.

Indeed it is worth the effort Ron, & to all that browse this site.
I am so grateful to be a member; it really doesn’t require much only a heart that loves God and the truth.
I recommend this site to anyone that is willing to learn and share the truth, Ron has done so much to help us remain steadfast in our faith.

Any long-time readers who find this group helpful to your spiritual life,
please considering joining the group. I prefer membership requests
from persons who have been reading the threads for a while and so
are familiar with the nature of the group. This is a group for learning
the Faith ever better, not for useless arguments, nor for rebelling against
Church teaching.

instructions for joining are in the first post of this thread (above)

Having been a reader before joining myself, I strongly recommend you join. I remember being somewhat intimaded by the discussions as I felt, and still do, I had little to bring. But with the attitude of learning the faith, you will enjoy this forum.
