Default Confession

Ron,

You have stated in your article about Implicit Repentance that "But if he is generally repentant from sin, and if he confesses the mortal sins that he remembers, even when such a Confession is deeply flawed, he is forgiven from all his sins".
Does this apply only to those mortal sins that someone cannot remember, or to someone who does not want to confess a paricular mortal sin but is sincerely repentant about it? Can you explain this?
I always thought that in order to be fully reconcilied one must state every mortal sin he can remember without hiding a single one.

God bless

Roberto

If you remember a mortal sin and deliberately withhold it, you might not be forgiven. Confess the mortal sins that you remember. If one has many past sins, one can summarize: such and such a type of sin numerous times. If you are sincerely repentant but deliberately withhold all mention of it, then you are probably not forgiven of that mortal sin.
