Eschatology is a much neglected field of theology, which has been recently plagued by persons falsely claiming to have received private revelations, and on that basis promoting false ideas about the future of the Church and the world. Even if some dates are not correct, my study of the nature of these future events, their order, and their relationship to the plan of God, is useful.

Speculative theology is also a much neglected field. Many conservative Catholics have scant regard for speculative theology, and for philosophy.

Default Mixed bag on this for me....

I find myself wholeheartedly believing the order you have found, but I fear that another no-show on the warning would naturally lead many to wonder if not now, then when?

All seven of my theology books are now available in Kindle format:

The most recently published Kindle format is
Important Dates in the Lives of Jesus and Mary
(NT biblical chronology)

I've now added several booklets in Kindle format, taken from my book:
New insights into the Deposit of Faith
http://www.catholicplanet.com/insights/index.htm

the Virginity of Jesus and Mary
Original Sin and the Immaculate Conception
co-Redemptrix, Mediatrix, Advocatrix
Dormition, Resurrection, Assumption

I've placed two brief chapters from the same book online as web articles:

The Sacraments and the Luminous Mysteries of the Rosary
http://www.catholicplanet.com/insigh...-Mysteries.htm

Proposed: the Hidden Mysteries of the Rosary

I'm thinking of buying a Kindle, and am looking for advice/recommendations. I would love to have books such as the Catechism of Catholic Ethics stored on it.

Are the Kindle devices region specific, like DVD players? Or do the different amazon stores sell one and the same device. It would be easier for me to get one from the UK but it would not be much good if it wasn't compatible with the US book titles.

Thanks

It is wireless internet based so if you are able to download with wireless connection to your computer or other devices it should work for you wherever you may be.

I forgot to mention that I have a Kindle and I am not completely happy with it for 2 reasons. With a paper book, I don't have to remember to charge it so I can always read it when I want; and, second, I love to share and exchange books which is not possible with the Kindle. Just saying...something to think about.

I have the 6-inch Kindle (with keypad, the older one).
Kindle Keyboard, Wi-Fi, 6" E Ink Display
It is useful, compact, light, and the battery charge lasts for many days.

Kindle books are not region specific, so a U.S. book will work in the U.K.

I would recommend the one with WiFi and without 3G. I don't think 3G is necessary, unless you don't have a wireless WiFi internet connection.

You can share Kindle ebooks, if sharing is enabled. My books are all sharing enabled (i think). You lend the book to another person for a limited time, wirelessly through your Amazon account. The book is unavailable to the lender while it is being used by the borrower.

My books are less expensive in Kindle format (no printing and paper costs).

You are correct about the sharing but they must be shared electronically. That leaves a lot of people out in my loop of friends.

I will be lowering the price of my Kindle books to $7.50.

My price for the Catholic Public Domain Version of the Bible is still $1.99 at Amazon.
