My response is that TheGiftOfLife was banned for refusing to adhere to the limits I set on topics of discussion, that members not post exaggerated or sensational remarks in politics, and also for refusing to accept my role in moderating the discussion. I'm not a supporter of Obama, and I've never voted for him. But it is absurd to claim that he is a Marxist or a Communist. He is a member of the democratic party, rather liberal, but not a socialist or Marxist or communist.
I think that everyone in this group should limit the discussions of the group to the areas that Ron wants to limit them since, I am assuming, this group begins with the premise that it has been formed and is led by an expert in theology, Ron. I have posted political commentary in the past, sometimes similar to Gifts', and have since refrained from doing so because I realized that such comments should be confined to groups whose purpose, creation, foundation, and boundaries are based on political, not theological, expertise. To put it another way, it seems foolish for anyone in a cooking group to spend time discussing popular sports when the basis and expertise of the creator of the group and, one assumes, the interest and purpose of those participating in the group, is cooking. I agree that politics has a central role in this, and with many of Gift's claims, but I know enough to not bring those bagels to this breakfast.
