Default Again, I ask your prayers

Again, I am asking members and readers to pray for me. I am suffering again from sciatica (back pain). I am seeing various doctors, but it takes a long time to get help in that way.

In my prayers. I'm going in a pilgrimage to the WYD in Poland for two weeks starting this Thursday. We might be visiting, God willing, the Shrine of the Divine Mercy and where the body of St. Faustina rests. We might visit shrines in Italy as well. I'll be offering my prayers for your health in those holy places.

Regards,

Ron,

I suppose that those back pains may be due in part that most of your work require long hours of sitting. Do you have a comfortable chair (those office style)? You may check for one that is really comfortable (perhaps in Amazon?). Also, I think it would be good if you have a "raised" table or desk where you may be able to write standing up.

There are some electronic tables that you can raise and lower them (so the person can work either sitting or standing up), the problem with this is that might cost a lot. Just simple thoughts that came to my mind.

Peace.

Ron:

There have been a few times I have had a pain in my back.

I would get a pain when I would sit on my sofa, and the other time, my back would tighten up after I was on my feet for long periods of times.

In both cases, the pain went away after I stretched by bending over and touching my toes. As of today, I still do the same stretch at the gym because if I don't, my lower back begins to tighten up. This is something I wasn't told by a doctor or the acupuncturist I was seeing.

The other time, I had a pain under my shoulder blade. I went to a massage therapist, and she found a muscle knot under my shoulder blade and released the tension. The pain went away.

I doubt a doctor is going to get to the source of your problem, so I would recommend you get in the habit of stretching. There are also some good videos on YouTube of chiropractors working on people with various types of nerve pains you can look into.

x-rays and an MRI scan show a number of problems causing my back pain. I've been referred to a specialist for an appointment early next month. In the meantime, I'm in pain every day.

Default Why

Ron,

Why aren't your doctors at least prescribing muscle relaxers for your daily pain? Usually with these meds, there is some temporary relief, at least.

I pray for your quick return to better health.

My back pain has been getting worse. Please continue to pray for me, and consider offering the sacrifice of the Mass for my benefit this weekend.

Ron,

I'm so sorry to hear you are suffering with more back pain. I recently graduated from school, and am now working in a law office. The attorney I work for is experiencing much the same trouble as you are. It can be very debilitating. She recently had an epidural procedure that gave her about 50% relief. Because of her suffering, I have a clearer understanding of your experience. I will definitely be praying for you.
