Default Back pain

Hi Ron,

yes praying for your full recovery. Personally, I have had episodes of acute back pain b/c of extended hour of sedentary work to the point that only lying down and with feet up on a chair for many hours can some relief be obtained. Depending on your condition and cause of the pain flares, taking natural, non-pharmaceutical anti-inflammatories as well as wearing a sports waste bands helps. During my recent 2 weeks episode I obtained a 'deluxe copper fit' waste band. That seems to help; wearing while sitting keeps pain from resurfacing....
hope any of this helps
in my prayers.

Thanks.

I had an injection of corticosteroid this past Thursday. I have not seen any benefit from the procedure yet. They say it can take 3 to 10 days to be effective.

Ron:

Have had several cortisone shots in my hip and back to relieve pain, without any benefit. Have had 2 hip replacements and a laminectomy and still suffer with pain.

I can recommend a couple of alternative therapies. Inversion table to relieve stenosis (temporary but feels good) and Bio-Mat, a deep tissue heating pad that really helps my back for longer periods of time.

My prayers are with you during this difficult time.

YBiC,

Joe

Joe,

Thanks for the advice. I'm sorry to hear that you have been suffering for so long. I've only had this problem for about 5 months now. I'm going for a consult early next month to decide if I need back surgery.

You are all in my prayers,

Ron

Default back pain

Ron,

I've heard a Doctor's program on the radio Sunday nights 770 AM or some such station where 'stem cell' therapy is done by extracting via injection your own bone marrow (or some such) and then re-injecting it to the area plagued with whatever ill-condition. My recollection here is a bit foggy and my use of medical terms poor and inaccurate.

I have a good doctor, a neurosurgeon. I'll have to see what he recommends at my next appt.

Well, about 8 days after the shot, my back began to improve. At this point in time, day eleven I think, there's been a substantial improvement. It's not a cure, but I'm feeling much better. Thanks for everyone's prayers.

Glad to hear Ron. Just keep it easy not forcing your back and following the recommendations of your doctor. Will keep praying.

Well, I had several good days. But now the pain is back, worse than before. I'm supposed to have a consult at my doctor's this Tuesday. I'll see what they say.
